The Gift of Enough: A Birthday Reflection on God's Grace

Birthdays are often measured in years, but as I woke up this morning, I found myself measuring mine in moments of unmerited favour. There is a profound clarity that has come with another trip around the sun, a realization that in this life, nothing is guaranteed. Everything, from the breath in our lungs to the roof over our heads, is purely a blessing, absolute grace!

I woke up today with a heart saturated in gratitude. As I reflect on the journey thus far, I am overwhelmed by the consistent hand of God upon my life. It is easy to move through our days focusing on what we are still chasing, but today, I choose to pause and celebrate what has already been.
I am grateful for life itself, not just existence, but a life that is healthy and entire. To wake up with strength in my body is a mercy I refuse to take for granted.
God has surrounded me with loving people, supplying love that anchors me. I am profoundly thankful for my beautiful wife, Ruth, whose love is genuine, steadfast, and kind. And then there are my daughters, our amazing, gorgeous girls. To see them healthy, growing, and full of life is perhaps the greatest masterpiece I will ever be a part of. To be a husband and a father is not just a role; it is a sacred gift.
I am deeply mindful of the church family God has placed me in. There is a unique joy in being a part of the Body of Christ, not just as a spectator, but being made relevant to the work of the Kingdom. Beyond that, I am thankful for a career that feels like a calling; a job where work is not a "hustle," but a platform for the dreams and businesses God has placed in my heart.
My gratitude extends to the family that has been my foundation from the beginning. I thank God for preserving my parents, my three sisters, and my brother. To know that those who knew me first are still walking beside me is a rare and beautiful treasure.
So, today I lift up my hands in thanksgiving, to God. For life. For marriage. For fatherhood. For family.
Happy Birthday to me,
not because of what I have achieved, but because of how much I have been given.
